Plate of Origin is an annual competition showcasing the best food from across New Zealand. Hosted in Manawatu, seven local restaurants are partnered up with seven of the best restaurants from around the country. Each partnership creates one main dish, highlighting two key ingredients to represent their partner restaurant’s region and Manawatu-Whanganui. Plate of Origin 2018 is run in association with Cuisine, the magazine for New Zealand foodies.
The dishes are available on the restaurants’ menus two weeks from 3 – 17 March for diners to experience, as part of the New Zealand AgriFood Week 2018
