Plate of Origin

Plate of Origin will be back for 2020!

The annual Plate of Origin competition showcasing the best food from across New Zealand will be back for 2020. Hosted in Manawatu, by local restaurants who are partnered with renowned restaurants from around the country. Each partnership creates one main dish, highlighting two stellar ingredients to represent their partner restaurant’s region and Manawatu-Whanganui.

Plate of Origin  is run in association with Cuisine, the magazine for New Zealand foodies.

All dishes are available on the Manawatu restaurants’ menus for two weeks for diners to experience, as part of the New Zealand AgriFood Week 2019.

The 2019 Plate of Origin winners were:
Fat Farmer in association with Culpril, Auckland
and
Nero Restraurant in association with Hopgoods & Co, Nelson

The 2018 Plate of Origin winners were:
Nero Restaurant, Manawatu in association with Cibo, Auckland

The 2017 Plate of Origin winners were:
Amayjen, Feilding in association with Arbour, Marlborough

The 2016 Plate of Origin winners were:
Aberdeen, Palmerston North in association with The Grove, Auckland
